Raul Mannola

Finnish flamenco guitarist residing in Cordoba, started playing the guitar at the age of eleven. He started playing blues and jazz but at the age of nineteen he fell in love with flamenco leaving jazz behind. He came to Cordoba in 1986, where he began studying with D.Manuel Cano. Four years later moved back to Finland playing flamenco both as a soloist and accompanying singers and flamenco dancers.

Raul recorded three records on flamenco guitar: Sonidos Negros (Black Sounds) in 1995, Bronce (Bronze) in 1997 and De mi Corazon Blanco y Verde (From my White and Green Heart) in 1998. In  January 2002, the record,"Aurora Clara" (Clear Dawn), was recorded with his quintet for Rockadillo Records, which is one of the most important record company in the world of  jazz of Finland. In 2004, he records a record with the trio, "Guitarras del Norte" (Guitars from the North), and with the trio toured both around Finland and Spain.

He studied with Manola Sanlúcar and Ralph Towner and worked with many jazz and flamenco musicians. In April 2004, he toured with the songwriter and singer, Antonio Porcuna "el Veneno" in Finland.
